I’ll be sharing a fall tablescape soon so stay tuned for that. Here’s a peek into the dining area where you can get a glimpse of my fall decor in there. The candle lanterns and wood bead garlands are also from my shop and add some balance and finish off the mantel.Īn old chippy corbel and a rusty section of gate add some character to the hearth. The reproduction vintage ceiling tiles on the wall are from my shop and have been up here since the spring. I used them in the center and then added faux sunflowers, rice stems, berry sprays, and some of the sienna eucalyptus.
FIREPLACE DECOR HOW TO
Have you ever dried hydrangeas? It’s so easy! You can see how I dry mine here → How to dry hydrangea blossoms. These dried ones had various shades of blue that blend with the other blue items I’m using in here. Using flowers in our decor is something I love to do, especially hydrangeas. You could also use branches cut from bushes or trees to get a similar look. They’ve sold out of these on their website but I found some similar ones here → sienna eucalyptus branches if you like this look. They’re perfect for fall so I stuck some into the demijohn and added some to the mantel as well. I love the subtle but rich hue of the leaves. I fell in love with and bought a few of these pretty sienna eucalyptus branches, along with a few other goodies. The interstate goes right through Waco so it was an easy stop.
But she’s very excited about her new job and life there so I’m happy about that. Needless to say, I was pretty sad about leaving our daughter behind where she’ll be more than 1,000 miles away from us. On the drive back home from Austin, my husband took me to the Magnolia Silos to help cheer me up. I bought this large blue demijohn in a crate and wanted to use it on our hearth. We stayed several days and I got to visit a couple of places I’ve wanted to see, including one in LaGrange called Old World Antieks. If you follow me on instagram then you know that I was in Austin, Texas earlier this month to help our oldest daughter move there for her new job. Isn’t that a steal? Anyway, I’ve been loving blue lately and wanted to incorporate this into our fall decor.
My youngest daughter found it at a local shop that was going out of business and we got it for $4. I’ve actually been taking a pottery class at our local art center and have made some nice pieces, but not this one. There’s something about the earthiness of pottery that calls out to me these days. I used it as a sort of table runner on the coffee table in the living room.Īnother item I drew inspiration from was this pretty pottery bowl. The colors are rich and warm and make me think of roasting s’mores next to a fire pit. Finding a piece or an image that you love can help get you going in the right direction.įor our fall fireplace decor, I found inspiration in a couple of items including my favorite fall throw blanket.
